Directors Education Day 2025

Date: Saturday 22nd March

Calling all LABBS MDs and AMDs: come and be nourished and inspired by the best community of fellow musicians you could wish for.

Who is it for?

This year's Director's Education day is for current frontline Directors and their Assistant Directors only.

For other music team members and prospective directors there is a separate, more tailored education event "Conducting a Barbershop Chorus: A Beginner's Guide" coming up on 14th June, please keep an eye on this website for more details in due course.

What is the cost?

The attendance fee for LABBS/BABS members is £25 per person.
The attendance fee for non-members is £50 per person.

Please ensure you pay your invoice ASAP!

There were 5 VinH grants available to cover the attendance fee, for which the application deadline has now closed.

What will be covered on the day?

Our annual directors education event will as usual feature interactive class sessions and hands-on practical work, facilitated by our standing LABBS directors faculty team. We will also have a plenary session exploring the 'Harmonious Leadership' document published for LABBS members (login required) last year, and how it can help us handle challenging situations, and - even better - head them off before they arise.

What do I need to bring?

BYO lunch/snacks/hot drink flask - to keep costs low we will not be offering refreshments at this event.
Water will be available - bring a refillable water bottle. Please contact directorseducation@labbs.org.uk if you have not received this - we will be chasing non-respondents at the deadline of 16th March!
