In years where there is no central
Harmony College, education for our general membership is usually delivered via several regional hubs.
LABBS Education Days 2025
LABBS are running Regional Education Days this year, which will educate attendees through a song learnt beforehand. Each day will be run by a
top Director and a team of LABBS Judges. There will be a focus on
Performance, with input from the other categories,
Musicality and
Singing as well.
When and where are the days taking place?
There are currently 4 days being organised around the country, on different dates. See the bottom of the page for more details, and choose the one which suits you best!
All days will start at 10:00am and finish at 4:00pm (doors open at 9.30am).
What's the song we need to learn?
The song for all the days will be Linda Corcoran’s beautiful arrangement of “
Songbird” (Fleetwood Mac), which has been chosen with the endorsement of Katy Phillip’s family.
This arrangement was created by Linda for The Red Rosettes after the passing of their young and talented director Katy Phillips, in whose name, the Katy Phillips Young Barbershopper of the Year award is given each year.
Costs
LABBS members: All regional events are
free to LABBS members.
Non-LABBS members: will be charged an enrolment fee of
£10.
There will be a charge of
£6 for music and tracks if you do not have them already*. This includes a £1 donation to the Katy Phillips Fund, as requested by the arranger. You can request the music on the booking form.
To keep it free/low cost, there will be
no catering at these events. You will need to bring your own food and drink, though some venues will have facilities to make hot drinks (details to follow).
*All attendees must have a paid-for copy of the music, whether previously purchased or obtained via LABBS for these events - it is against copyright law to share your copy with others.
