Shows

With two shows to enjoy over the weekend, Convention-goers are in for a treat with performances showcasing the very best of British barbershop.

The Saturday Show

Saturday night opens with an opportunity to see previous LABBS Quartet Gold Medallists come together as our QC Chorus, which is sure to be an outstanding performance.

Hot on their heels are our 2023 Gold Medallist Quartets and Chorus. Check out the results page after each contest to find out who they'll be.

Saturday night is rounded off by British Association of Barbershop Singers 2023 Chorus Gold Medallists, The Cottontown Chorus, and 2023 Quartet Gold Medallists, Trailblazers.

The fancy dress theme for Saturday night, should you choose to take part, is ‘Tea Party’.  So, whether it’s a cute little tea-dress, or you’re coming dressed a fairy-cake, remember to post your photos on social media with the hashtags #WeAreLABBS #TeaParty #Harrogate #LABBS23 #SingLABBS.

The Sunday Show

Sunday morning begins with announcement of the The Jen Mills Award, including a performance from the 2022 award recipient, Sonic.

More brilliant barbershop follows from our new 2023  Silver and Bronze medallists from the Quartet, Mixed Quartet and Chorus contests, before the British Association of Barbershop Singers 2023 Mixed Chorus Gold Medallists, Bristol A Cappella, bring the show to a close.

Please see our What's On page for show times.

The Cottontown Chorus

The Cottontown Chorus is a multi-award-winning male a cappella group from Bolton, Lancashire. With a great sense of fun and a unique style of entertainment, the chorus has gripped audiences during its history of over 40 years. Their close-knit membership of nearly sixty guys has a strong commitment to vocal and performing excellence. Cottontown particularly enjoys competing in both national and international barbershop competitions. Well respected stages around the UK including the London Palladium have given them the opportunity to wow audiences with stirring harmonies, emotional lyrics, exciting choreography, and visual effects.

In competition, the Bolton-based group has succeeded in winning the much sought-after Gold Medal at the British Association of Barbershop Singers convention eight times since 2005, and has represented the UK on four occasions at the Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention held in the USA. In 2008 Cottontown Chorus attained much public attention, winning the adult section of the BBC3 Choir of The Year competition.

Cottontown would like to thank LABBS for inviting us to perform on the Saturday evening show and we wish all quartets and choruses crossing the stage over the weekend, the very best of luck! We hope you all have a fabulous convention.

Trailblazers

Multi-award-winning quartet, Trailblazers, include a wide range of songs and styles in their repertoire, from modern musical theatre hits to barbershop classics, all delivered in their own unique style. Top class performers and 2023 BABS Quartet Champions, Alex, Ali, James and Simon deliver every one of them with emotion, impeccable singing, and exceptional musicianship.

Bristol A Cappella

Bristol A Cappella is a high-quality award-winning mixed chorus of around thirty members who love to sing close harmony a cappella. Performing a contemporary repertoire from a wide range of genres including pop, rock and show tunes, they love to entertain audiences and tell a story with their performances.

Established in 2013, Bristol A Cappella began competing in 2016. They work hard on vocal craft while having lots of fun along the way, and won gold in the British Association of Barbershop Singers mixed-gender chorus competition in 2023.
